HISTORY

A story driven by vision and dedication.

A dream born in Aigio, the Peloponnese, in 1958, a journey that continues to this day.

Every legacy begins somewhere. For CAVINO, that beginning lies on the slopes of Aigialeia, where the mountains meet the sea and a distinctive microclimate creates ideal conditions for grapes of exceptional quality.

It was here that two visionaries laid the foundations for what would become the CAVINO Group.

The people behind the vision

In 1958, Konstantinos Anastasiou and Ioannis Douskas turned their vision into reality. Their choice of Aigio was no accident. The region’s exceptional winegrowing landscape, the meeting of mountain and sea, and a long winemaking tradition dating back to antiquity all pointed to the potential for something remarkable.

The varieties that made history

From the outset, CAVINO invested in the indigenous varieties that made the region famous: Roditis, Lagorthi, Sideritis, Mavro Kalavritino and, of course, the renowned Mavrodaphne.

At the same time, international varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon adapted seamlessly to the terroir of Aigialeia, helping to shape the CAVINO Group’s cosmopolitan profile.

A journey of continuous development

CAVINO’s story is one of continuous development. Keeping pace with the latest trends, the company modernised every area of production with state-of-the-art equipment. Four bottling lines help ensure the quality of its wines and spirits (ouzo, tsipouro, brandy), while 5,000 m² of climate-controlled storage facilities safeguard ideal conditions for their long-term preservation.

Certifications to some of the most demanding international standards, including ISO, BRC and IFS at the highest level, further reinforce quality assurance throughout every stage of production.
